- How do I open an XAT account?
Opening an account is free. Just use this link Free XAT ACCOUNT £200 in Global Credits Free and fill in the form. You should receive a confirmation e-mail the same day and your personal account detail and PIN should be with you within 72 hours.

- How much is a unit in XAT worth when trading?
At present one unit should be valued at equal to one pound sterling to deal with international trade. Local XAT Networks can value units against local currency for convienience,

- How do I trade in XAT?
Providing you have units in your account, you can arrange for transfer of units to someone else's account simply by phoning the number we send you and following the instructions. You should have your account number and PIN ready to key in when requested to do so, (firmly and not too quickly to avoid mistakes). What is the difference between a Standard account and a Bonus Account.
A Standard account is free including £200 in Global credits to trade. You can only get a Bonus Account by getting XAT books for two of your friends which entitles you to £1000 in Global Credits with the release of each new edition up to edition 21.

- When I used my account recently I was unable to add 50p to the price I transferred. Why is this?
To speed up transactions and allow maximum use with minimum waiting, the current system does not deal in pence. This may change in the future if users feel the need for it. Meanwhile you should round your transactions to the nearest pound or local unit.

- Will I receive a balance statement?
No. You can simply call the XAT line and be instantly told your current balance by following the instructions you'll hear. You are also automatically told your new balance each time you trade in XAT units.

- What about forgery?
At present, XAT units exist electronically. There are no notes or coins which could be forged.

- What about computer hackers?
While XAT accounts are held on computer, access can only be gained through using touch tone phones. The XAT computer is completely isolated from other computers as it is not on the internet. All internet correspondence and backup transfers are done from a separate computer.

- Will people joining outside the UK have to call the UK computer to trade?
Yes they will have to call the UK until a local computer is set up, and they will need to convert the sterling in their accounts into their own currency, using the current exchange rate.

- Is anything deducted from my account for making transactions?
No, all transactions are free to all account holders.

- Can I get a bigger bonus by buying more than two copies of XAT for my friends?
Unfortunately not. The holding of more than one bonus account per person is not within the spirit of XAT and discouraged. Proof of ID may be required if someone is suspected of bonus hogging.

- I got my copy of XAT from a bookshop. Do I still have to get two copies for friends to get my bonus account?
Yes. No matter how you got your copy, from a bookshop, from a friend or free on the net, you must order your 2 copies for two friends in order to qualify for a bonus account, not forgetting to provide us with your address as well as theirs so we can send you your personal account details. (forms available on the net and in book editions)
